New feature announcement: Memos

Need to send your staff a quick message while planning their next rota? With the new RotaCloud Memos tool, communication is just a click away!

You know how it is: you're dragging, dropping, and generally being a rota-planning wizard, when you suddenly remember that you need to send one of your team a quick message about an upcoming shift.

Previously, this meant stopping what you were doing, firing up your email client, and — once you'd responded to the half-dozen people clamouring for your attention and found your employee in your address book — writing them an email.

Before you knew it, you'd completely lost your rota-planning mojo and had to remind yourself where you were up to.

That's why we've added the new Memos tool to your RotaCloud navigation bar.

With Memos, you can send your staff messages from within RotaCloud itself, meaning that you can reach out to individuals or even your whole team in seconds — without having to open up your email and breaking your concentration.

How to use Memos

The next time you open up RotaCloud, you'll notice that we've added a paper aeroplane icon to the blue navigation bar, just to the left of the notifications bell. This is the Memos tool.  

Whenever you need to send a member of your team a work-related message, all you need to do is click on this icon to open up a message composer window.

Within it, you'll find a subject field, a message field, and a box where you can search for employees by typing in their names. Alternatively, you can select individual recipients by clicking on their names from the rows below, or click 'Select All' to send a message to everyone on your team.

Once you've finished composing, simply click the 'Send' button and your message will wing its way to your employees' registered email addresses.

And that's it! You're now free to get back to crafting the most beautiful rota the world has ever seen!
